Koloale Community High School are the proud champions of the Credit Corporation High School rugby 7s successfully completed at the town rugby stadium yesterday.
The Koloale Junior Boys Team defended their title in this year’s competition, walking away with the winning trophy, while their senior girls team added flavor to their victory by winning the U-20 category championship title.
Speaking to SIBC Sports in a celebratory mood, the school sports master, Randall Puia, expressed gratitude for this year’s great accomplishments.
“As the sports master, I am very proud about these achievements because these players are not just playing for themselves but are representing the school,’’ he said.
He further highlighted that the school administration will also take pride in their students’ achievement, since their students have raised the school’s reputation.
Puia also highlighted the presence of several potential rugby players in the school’s teams, believing they can excel if they continue to play the sport.
“I believe that if these players continue to develop in this junior category, they can contribute to the national team one day,’’ Puia insisted.
In his closing remarks, Ronald Prasad, Chief Executive Officer of Credit Corporation Solomon Islands Limited, the major sponsor of the competition, extended his congratulations to all participating schools, applauding their sportsmanship and commitment in this year’s tournament.
“To all the players, congratulations on your remarkable performance. Whether you win or lose, you have shown the spirit of rugby, teamwork, plans, and respect.’’
Mr. Prasad also thanked the Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation for their partnership, adding that they are aiming to build something bigger in the future.
