Local entrepreneurs and the general public of North Malaita have welcomed a recent decision by the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government to reopen the Development Bank of Solomon Islands (DBSI).

SIBC’s Bita’ama stringer in North Malaita, John Andrew Kiri reports this is welcoming news for struggling local businesses in the country.

“The DCC Government’s initiative to reopen the Development Bank of Solomon Islands after being inoperational for some years is welcoming news for Solomon Islanders who struggle to help grow their small businesses in the country.”

Mr Kiri adds the local entrepreneurs are optimistic that reopening the bank will enable more Solomon Islanders to actively involve in business activities in the country.

“Put the funds in the DBSI so that it can be easily accessible to the rural people who wish to start businesses on a borrowing scheme or loan that’s affordable for them.”
