M.N.U.R.P ON HIGH PLANNING MODE TO IMPLEMENT D.C.C POLICY
The Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace is on high planning mode as it prepares to implement the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) Government’s policy direction on peace building.
A statement from the Ministry said under the DDC Policy Statement objectives, the Ministry is to recognise, strengthen and empower the traditional governance systems and structures as well as protect and preserve the diversity of the country’s organic tradition and cultures.
Among its plan also, is redesigning the Solomon Islands Coat of Arms to reflect cultural identity and sensitivity and further embark on post-conflict rehabilitation programs.
The statement said the Ministry now has in place all strategic actions and further planning, to derive programs and activities from the DCC policy objective.
It adds the Ministry is planning to reach out to all nine provinces including the Honiara City Council in implementing its programs and activities.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary Lennis Rukale encouraged his staff to continue the good work and work harder to plan and implement the programs and activities for the betterment of our people.
He also thanked his staff for their commitment and implementation of government policies in the past years.
Mr. Rukale assured his staff of his cooperation to plan and implement the programs and activities set for the Ministry.
The Ministry also acknowledged the DCC Government for allocating resources to support peace building for the next four years.
