MAKE USE OF YOUR SCHOLARSHIPS: NTC
The National Training Committee (NTC) of the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) has called on all successful recipients of the 2016 Solomon Islands Government (SIG) Scholarship to fully utilise them.
NTC Chair, James Bosamata told SIBC News in a recent interview following the scholarship orientation and award presentation ceremony in Honiara.
Mr Bosamata said this is crucial as any student failing to meet the scholarship requirements can be terminated.
“They must make good use of the scholarships we offered them to study well overseas or even in the country because when they failed, we are wasting our resources. I think this is one very important message I want to tell them.”
Mr Bosamata urged the students to always liaise with their education attaches if they are facing problems with their studies.
“I also told the students this morning was that they have education attache’s in Fiji and Papua New Guinea. We have these officers to ensure smooth communication between students and our office through them so it’s important that whatever problems or issues faced especially in Fiji and Papua New Guinea, can be communicated to us through these officers.”
SIBC News understands, 305 students were awarded the SIG scholarship to pursue their studies this year.
