Malaita Premier Peter Ramohia supports RAMSI’s withdrawal from the country, saying it signifies a positive development.

Speaking at the official ceremony marking RAMSI PPF’s withdrawal in Auki, Premier Ramohia says the withdrawal of RAMSI’s presence from Auki and the country as a positive development.

He says RAMSI’s draw down signifies it has accomplished most of its goals.

“So although RAMSI and PPF will be drawing down and leaving in a short while the point is that we should not see it as a negative thing, but we should see it as positive and it is a sign, I would say, that we are ready to take on some of the things that we have been taught. With the facilities provided, the assets provided, we can do the things after they leave, We can do it ourselves and that’s the message I want to put across.”

Premier Ramohia adds, he is proud of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force in Auki.
