The Government of National Unity and Transformation within the 7 and half months in office has put in place a platform to launch its transformational and unifying agenda for the country in the next few years.
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele announced the commitment in his Christmas message to the nation.
Manele said the government budget was already passed in parliament and that will ensure work begins as of 1st January 2025.
He added his government remains true to its founding pillars of economic transformation, unity and stability, infrastructure development and human capacity development.
“Looking forward to 2025 and beyond, the GNUT pledges to build a strong, caring, united, resilient and prosperous nation.”
“We will work with you to navigate through challenges together and we will see opportunities, guided by the principles of transparency, good governance, inclusivity and sustainability,” he added.
The Prime Minister said the guiding principle of the GNUT policy clearly stated that Solomon Islands is a Christian and sovereign state founded on Christian principles and values.
“So this Christmas, I call on all Solomon Islands and every person living in Solomon Islands to remain steadfast in the spirit of national unity, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and forgiveness. With God’s help, we will transform our nation,” he added.
