Miss Solomon Islands got Commonwealth Environment award
Miss Solomon Islands Gladys Habu was awarded the Commonwealth Points of Light award.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second has recognized Ms Gladys Habu as the 168th recipient of the Commonwealth Points of Light award in honour of her exceptional voluntary service for raising awareness on climate change.
In a media statement, Ms Habu described the award as more than she have imagined.
She said, the award will also encourage people to take the stand in leading the fight on climate change as a nation.
Ms Habu is now working with other young people from across the world ahead of the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow in November this year.
As the Head of the Commonwealth, Her Majesty the Queen is thanking inspirational volunteers across the 54 Commonwealth nations for the difference they are making in their communities and beyond.
