More Solomon Islanders expected to work in Canada with new Air Canada partnership.

Solomon Islands nationals travelling to Canada as part of the Foreign workers program or migrating under Permanent Residence nomination program from Guadalcanal Province, will benefit from a new partnership arrangement with Air Canada.

This partnership benefit will be extended to other Solomon Islands province joining the education and training program offered by Canadian International Training & Education. The proposed route will be from Brisbane, Australia into Vancouver, Canada.

The arrangement becomes effective immediately.

Guadalcanal Provincial Premier Hon. Anthony Veke welcomes the opportunity.

Meanwhile, Air Canada is pleased to support the Guadalcanal Province CITREC Graduates and their Foreign Worker Migration program to Canada via Brisbane, Australia which offers nonstop service to Vancouver and easy connections to the rest of Canada.

Senior Vice President Regional Markets and Government Relations, Kevin Howlett, said with an unparalleled choice of 3 Australian gateways, Air Canada is delighted to be welcoming Solomon Island nationals on board Air Canada.

Welcoming the partnership, CITREC Chairman Mr. Ashwant Dwivedi said, this partnership will become a great convenience for people travelling into Canada under the arrangement.

Air Canada is now bringing the people of Solomon Islands into Canada, a demonstration of its global commitment, Dwivedi said.

Mr. Dwivedi who is also Solomon Islands Honorary Consul General to Canada said, with its Pacific reach, Air Canada can assist export goods and services from Solomon Islands into North America.
