The NCD Warriors have teamed up with Taiwan Volunteer Medical Team to educate school students in Honiara about health and well being.

NCD Warriors is a team of young people who partner with local schools to raise awareness of non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart diseases that are caused by unhealthy lifestyles.

This week, they visited four schools and gave funny, interactive presentations to teach the students about important health issues.

Team Leader Simon Tomasusu says the students were interested to learn about the causes of conditions such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar and high blood lipids.

Mr Tomasusu says they explained to the children how to avoid these conditions through eating healthy foods and living a healthy lifestyle.

The NCD Warriors visited Tuvaruhu, Tamlan, Honiara Integrated Primary, and Mbokona school.
