New bus stands on the way for Honiara: MID
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Honiara City Council are planning to collaborate to build new bus stands in the capital city.
Supervising Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Jimmy Nuake said the ministry will manage one project to construct new bus stands at the Honiara Central Market.
“We want to put it as part of the contract to maintain this section of road and include it in the scope to build bus stands, or at least bus shelters,” Mr Nuake said.
The stands will serve the bus stops in front of the market and on the other side of the road.
The bus stand initiative is not part of the Kukum Highway road upgrade.
