NILA CATHOLICS WITNESSED RE-ENACTMENT OF CRUCIFICTION

Catholics in Nila, Shortland Islands witnessed the re-enactment of Jesus’ death on the cross.

Gina Maka’a reports this was one of the Easter activities planned for Nila community.

She says people from surrounding communities have been congregating at Nila station since Thursday for the Easter activities.

“People from the surrounding islands have gathered here esepcially the Catholics on Thursday and stayed overnight at Nila to celebrate the Easter where the main celebration will take place on Sunday, when they will organise some activities including a fundraising event towards their church building.”

The Nila Catholic Parish will later hold a Veneration of the Cross service later  in the afternoon.
