The Parliamentary Opposition has accused the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (OPMC) of misleading people in this nation in trying to defend Skyline Investment Group Company.

Recently, the OPMC said Skyline Investment Group was introduced to them by the Solomon Islands High Commissioner to Fiji Patterson Oti and that the company was genuine.

But on Wednesday this week, the Solomon Star in an article reported that Mr Oti denied the statement made by the OPMC saying that he never introduced the company to the Government, and he only facilitated the visit by the company executives to the country.

The statement said the denial by Mr Oti only raises more questions as to why the OPMC and the Government have chosen to remain silent and are protecting a person with questionable character and history.

The opposition said, it is highly suspicious that the Prime Minister and his officials are doing all they can to defend the company amidst all the controversial actions taken by the company; particularly leaving trails of unpaid bills everywhere.

The statement said the Opposition is immovable in its stand that the whole housing scheme is a ‘scam’ and the Government must terminate all arrangements with the investor and Skyline Investment Group forthwith.

The Opposition demanded that the Government apologize to Solomon Islanders for misleading them.
