Malaita Province now has a new Provincial Premier.

He is Peter Channel Ramohia, the Provincial Member for Ward 24.

SIBC stringer for North Malaita, Lensley Kwaimani with the results of the Premier’s election today.

“The final result for the election of a Premier for the Malaita Provincial Assembly is as follows, Honourable Peter Chanel Ramohia has polled 20 votes while his only rival candidate Reverend Michael Maeliau polled only 12 votes.”

It is anticipated the Premier-elect will appoint his provincial executive in the coming week.
