PM Manele leaves for PIF Troika meeting
Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele leaves the country this weekend to attend the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Troika Meeting in Fiji.
The engagement marks a key step in the lead-up to Solomon Islands role as the incoming Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum leaders meeting in September.
The PIF Troika consists of the Solomon Islands as incoming host of the 54th PIF Leaders Meeting, Tonga, the current PIF Chair, and the Cook Islands the immediate past Chair.
Troika serves as a strategic leadership body to ensure continuity and cohesion in Forum priorities and actions.
The Troika mechanism is also designed to ensure continuity and stronger Pacific advocacy on the global stage, as well as a smooth transition between Forum Chairs.
Prime Minister Manele’s participation signals Solomon Islands strong commitment to regional cooperation, unity, and collective action on key issues affecting the Blue Pacific Continent.
