PM SOGAVARE ASSURED FIJIAN PM ON SI’s ASSISTANCE

Patron of the Solomon Islands for Fiji Nation-wide appeal and Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has assured his Fijian counterpart Frank Vorege Bainimarama that Solomon Islands stands ready to assist in Fiji’s reconstruction phase, recovering from Cyclone Winston.
Prime Minister Sogavare says under current Melanesia Spearhead Group (MSG) arrangement, Solomon Islands will supply resources, including human resource to assist rebuild Fiji.
“I’ve assured my counterpart Frank Bainimarama that for Solomon Islands, as soon as we receive how we can fit into the reconstruction period, we will make arrangements to send over our carpenters and builders to go and help out at places that houses will need reconstruction.”
Mr. Sogavare appeals for generous support from Solomon Islanders towards’ Fiji’s recovery program.
