PM SOGAVARE EXPRESSED CONDOLENCES TO NATUMAN OVER PAM
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has expressed condolences to his Ni-Vanuatu counterpart Joe Natuman over the devastation left behind in Vanuatu by Cyclone Pam.
The Prime Minister sent a condolence message to the Vanuatu Prime Minister in a letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade.
In a statement, Prime Minister Sogavare says the Government and people of Solomon Islands share their profound sadness with Vanuatu for the heavy loss of lives and widespread devastation Cyclone Pam caused over the weekend.
The Prime Minister says it is Solomon Islands fervent prayer that the Almighty will encompass Vanuatu with all his comfort and strength.
SIBC News understands regional reports state Cyclone Pam has claimed at least 24 lives and displaced 3,3000 people in Vanuatu.
