Police destroys more than 700 UXOs in Western province
The Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) destroyed more than unexploded ordnance (UXOs) in Western province after a 12 day operation.
The destroyed UXOs are World War 2 dangerous remnants.
Supervising Police Commissioner Vaevaso said, police EODD Officers have just returned from a 12 days operation in the Western Province.
Supervising Commissioner Mr. Vaevaso said the team was able to respond to many reports and safely recovered and destroyed the UXOs.
“The EODD would like to thank the communities for their ongoing support during these dangerous operations. Especially those communities around the Munda area.”
“UXO’s still remain in many areas in the Western province… please report any UXOs that you find to the EODD on 7495215 or to your local police,” Mr Vaevaso said.
