Acting Police Commissioner Juanita Matantga said strong discipline measures are in place to maintain the status of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
Acting Commissioner Juanita Matanga made the statement to warn police officers from gambling activities in all police compounds.
Mrs Matanga said procedures are in place to discipline officers who stoop lower than is expected from their professional lives as members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
“We do have certain procedures to follow, we cannot just get people dismissed, no. We have discipline procedures where we will go through public discipline proceeding and if we find them guilty, then that’s how we will deal with them. If we see the nature of that offence ongoing, then that may result to a more or serious punishment, but that is if the officer continues to be ignorant.”
Mrs Matanga adds such discipline measures is to maintain the work and status of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.
