Police investigate suspicious death in West Honiara
The Police National Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the suspicious death of a male person in his 20s whose body was discovered on 6 October at the seaside near the Fangs company area at Tandai, in West Honiara.
According to police investigation, the deceased was discovered with injuries on both legs, left hand and upper lips.
Prior to the suspicious discovery, the deceased shared a few beers with two friends behind the Good view building.
They went their separate ways after the music stopped.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo said this when the deceased went missing and his whereabouts was unknown until the body was discovered.
Mr. Robo said the deceased has been identified by his relatives from Malaita and Western province.
The body was transported to the National Referral Hospital morgue on the same night when it was discovered.
“My condolences to immediate families, friends and relatives for the loss of their loved one,” Robo said.
Police have established an inquiry file to continue with the investigation into the death incident.
Anyone with information about the incident is advised to assist police in their investigation.
