Chief Executive Officer of the Solomon Islands Ports Authority (SIPA) Collin Yow has condemned accusations levelled against him and the ten consultants hired by the Ports Authority.

The accusations were made public in local media recently, but Mr Yow yesterday said the accusations reported in the press are misleading and defamatory.

Speaking at a media conference he said the Ports Authority Board has a mandate to lift the profile of the Solomon Islands ports, saying the consultants are essential to transforming the Ports Authority in line with international standards.

The Ports CEO also said his job is to undertake the transformation in the organization.

“The issue is that I am here to undertake a transformation and when you have a transformation, sad peoples’ jobs are at stake and it’s my job really basically to ensure that we get the best people in this organisation and to really bring this Port to that level of first world and this is what I am doing.”
