
Prime Minister Manele launches the National Security Strategy 2025
Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele today officially launched the National Security Strategy 2025 in Honiara marking the beginning of a renewed effort to strengthen the nation’s collective security and ensure a brighter future for all Solomon Islanders.
The strategy marks a significant milestone in the Solomon Islands’ journey toward a safer, more secure, and prosperous future with the official launch of the Solomon Islands National Security Strategy 2025.
Prime Minister Manele described the document as a collective vision, a comprehensive roadmap, and a call to action to protect the nation’s sovereignty, safeguard citizens, and promote sustainable development in an increasingly complex global environment.

Themed: ‘United for Security: A Collective Vision for a Resilient & Prosperous Solomon Islands, Prime Minister Manele underlined, the security of our nation is deeply intertwined with the well-being of our people, the resilience of our institutions, and the preservation of our natural environment.
He highlighted that the NSS-2025 supports the achievement of Goal Five of the National Development Strategy 2016-2035, and reinforces the four key pillars of the Government’s National Policy- Economic Transformation, Unity and Stability, Infrastructure Development and Human Capital Development.

PM Manele stressed, the NSS-2025 aligns with the Government’s broader development plans, ensuring that its implementation contributes to the nation’s growth and stability.
“We all share the responsibility of confronting the security challenges ahead. The success of this strategy relies on the collective efforts of every Solomon Islander—citizens, communities, and institutions alike. The government is committed to leading and resourcing this strategy, but it is through our active participation that we will succeed.”
Prime Minister Manele urged all stakeholders, including government ministries, law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and citizens to embrace and implement the principles, goals, and strategies outlined in the NSS- 2025.
The PM expressed sincere gratitude to the Minister for Police, National Security, and Correctional Services Hon. Jimson Tanangada MP and all who contributed to the development of the strategy (past and present), saying, their dedication has laid the foundation for a more secure and prosperous future for Solomon Islands.
