The Guadalcanal Provincial Government has expressed its disappointment over its non attendance during the recent solovisu ceremony in Ngalito village in the Weathercoast.

Guadalcanal Premier Stephen Panga says, reconciliations involving Guadalcanal people should be done according to the knowledge and presence of the provincial assembly.

Panga adds Weathercoast people must be represented by their provincial government.

“I was shocked when hearing over the media last night that the program was held there. There was no invitation sent to me or to my ministers so that any of us from the provincial government to attend the programme. After all Weathercoast people are Guadalcanalese, represented by the provincial government. Any program as such convened elsewhere in Guadalcanal has to consult the provincial government,” said Mr. Panga.

Premier Panga said the provincial government should attend such ceremony to speak on behalf of its people and express the provincial government’s views on relevant issues.

Meanwhile, the premier acknowledge the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force for their apology during the Ngalito solovisu ceremony.
