S.I.E.A INVITES CONTRACTORS TO DO STREET LIGHTS
The Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) has been authorized to invite qualified electrical contractors to bid for the installation of LED or Solar-LED streetlights to improve existing streetlights in Honiara suburb and one of the SIEA Provincial Outstations.
A statement from SIEA says this is an energy savings and asset improvement project which expects to be on a trial basis.
The development comes after Government has drafted an agreement for SIEA to be contracted to repair and maintain the existing streetlights in Honiara and other provincial centers.
Under the agreement, SIEA will maintain the existing 445 street light in Honiara and other islands including repairing nearly 100 that need fixing.
Maintenance will also include replacing the light bulbs and possibly replacing some lights with modern LED lights to provide better and reliable lighting.
