S.I. MET SERVICE ISSUED “NO TSUNAMI THREAT” TO SOLOMON ISLANDS
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Services has issued a No tsunami threat to the Solomon Islands after an undersea earthquake of magnitude 6.8 occurred this afternoon.
The undersea earthquake happened near 1-hundred and thirty-one kilometre west-southwest of Arawa, Bougainville, Papua New Guinea.
The MET services says no further updates will be issued unless the situation changes.
