The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development announces schools to be upgraded this year.

In its official website, the Ministry of Education posted a list of a total of 30 schools around the country to be upgraded.

A total of 18 schools approved for Form 1 includes; nine schools from Malaita, three from Guadalcanal, two from Western, two from Honiara City and one each from Makira and Temotu.

Ten schools have been given the approval to be upgraded to Form four.

These are four schools from Guadalcanal, three from Malaita, two from Makira and one for Temotu province.

Schools approved for Form 6 this year will be one from Malaita and one for Makira Ulawa province.

Meanwhile, a number of critics want to see education authorities employ qualified teaching staff.

The concerned Solomon Islanders believe teachers becoming a role model for students has been a long time concern for a lot of our schools.
