SEMINAR IN SEARCH FOR NEW VOTING SYSTEM STARTS TOMORROW
A three days electoral seminar on the search for a new voting system for Solomon Islands begins in Honiara tomorrow.
Among the seminar’s topics are the advantages and disadvantages of the electoral systems, criteria for elections systems design, and evaluating election systems and making choices in the Solomon Islands Context.
The seminar will also look at legal and other mechanisms for implementation of reform, electoral systems and the Pacific Melanesia experience of women’s participation in parliament.
The seminar will end on Thursday.
