SHANEL APPLIED TO HALT JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST HIM
The Minister of Communication and Aviation Peter Shanel Agovaka has applied to halt judicial proceedings against him.
The High Court will hear his application Tuesday next week.
Mr. Shanel’s application for stay is based on the grounds that the investigation on his case wasn’t procedural.
The former Police Minister was charged with one count of assault causing actual bodily harm which he allegedly committed in December 2013, at his Lengakiki home.
He stood trial at the Magistrate Court which ended in January this year.
The ruling however, will depend on the outcome of Shanel’s stay application at the High Court.
Justice Emmanuel Kouhota will preside over the hearing.
