SICCI PROMOTED SMALL BUSINESSES
The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industries (SICCI) and Solomon Islands Small Business Enterprise Center (SISBEC) today hosted a joint open day to promote collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship amongst stakeholders engaging with and supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
Under the theme: “Supporting SMEs to build pathways to a vibrant Solomon Islands”, the program took place at the National Museum in Honiara.
SICCI Advocacy officer Vanessa Teutoa says they are aiming to promote small businesses in the country.
“We aim to promote small businesses, usually it’s the bigger businesses that get the spotlight so we are trying to help smaller businesses figure out a way to make their businesses work here.”
Ms Teutoa adds, the program is the first of its kind to be held in Honiara.
She says plans are underway to make this an annual event.
