SIEC extends omission and objections period
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission, SIEC, is considering further extension of the current Omission and Objections period.
Confirming this to SIBC News today, Chief Electoral Officer Mose Saitala said this was due mainly to financial-related issues, causing recent delays of putting up the Provisional Lists in constituencies across the country.
“We are actively considering the delay, not for much because of the release of the funds, but jave not said how many days we are going to extend the date,” he said.
Mr Saitala urged all voters to utilize the Objection and Omissions period before 20th November.
“I think its important that everyone should try and help us in terms of making claims and omissions , this is an opportunity for us to make this election credible and realistic.”
