SIX TO CONTEST 2016 MISS SOLOMON ISLANDS PAGEANT

The Solomon Islands Beauty Pageant secretariat has selected six contestants for the 2016 Miss Solomon Islands Pageant.
Director of the Solomon Islands Beauty Pageant secretariat, Joyce Konofilia updates, the final selection was done last weekend.
“We had an interview last week, it was very tough. We had to drop some girls so we got the six best ones. We have one internationally-based contestant, she will join us later so these are the six candidates.”
Ms. Konofilia also adds, this year’s competition will be tough as all the girls are highly-educated and confident.
“I think this year is going to be very tough compared to the other previous year. All the girls are very highly educated, very confident so I am looking forward to a very tough competition and also to get the best girl to go to Miss South Pacific so I am very happy with the selection and I am very proud of the girls. This year we have a smaller group so for me and my crew it will be hopefully easier to organise a small group and we’re looking forward to a really good show this year.”
The crowning night of the Miss Solomon Islands Pageant will be on the 29 October at the Coral Sea Hotel – the platinum sponsor for this year’s 2016 Miss Solomon Pageant.
The six contestants are Falu Alatalala, Camila Grossmith, Zinnia Leamana, Elizabeth Makini, Rutina Koroa and Sara Cave.
