SOLOMON AIRLINES TO RESUME FULL OPERATIONS
Solomon Airlines will resume full operation of all international and domestic services from tomorrow, Thursday, 9th June 2016.
The Country’s National Carrier has suspended all its flight operations yesterday blaming the National Government’s inaction to pay up its arrears which the Airline claims was in several million.
But in a statement today, the airline has advised it operates one international flight today from Honiara to Brisbane before full international and domestic flights recommence tomorrow.
It says airline will also resume all services provided to all other airlines utilising Honiara International Airport in its capacity as the ground handling agent.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer Captain Ron Sumsum says Solomon Airlines unreservedly apologised for any inconvenience the situation had caused the airline’s passengers, its codeshare partners and other international carriers and their passengers.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury as Ministry accountable and responsible for Solomon Airlines condemns the action of its Chief Executive Officer, Captain Ron Sumsum to shut down Solomon Airlines and halt all flights yesterday.
The Ministry of Finance and Treasury adds, Government is also working closely with Civil Aviation Authority and the newly appointed board of directors to finalize the recruitment of a new CEO for Solomon Airlines.
