Solomon Islands Congratulates UAE on Reciprocal Visa Arrangement

Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Jeremiah Manele has met with the United Arab Emirate’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ahmad Al Sayegh, Minister of State in New York. 

The Ministers discussed current bilateral relations and highlighted other possible areas of cooperation between the two partners.

The Solomon Islands Government thanked the UAE Government for its ongoing support to Solomon Islands in health especially COVID, immigration, renewable energy, human rights, Climate Change and other sectors. 

“The relationship between UAE and Solomon Islands has been grounded on mutual trust, shared vision and values of human rights and sustainable development,” Minister Manele said.

The Foreign Minister thanked and congratulated UAE for the Reciprocal Visa Arrangement implemented between UAE and Solomon Islands. Citizens of both countries will not need a visa to enter each other’s countries (maximum of 90 days), with 6 months minimum passport validity.

“Solomon Islands begins implementing this as of September 2022,” the Foreign Minister concluded.

Solomon Islands looks forward to receiving more people from the UAE visiting our Islands in the near future, and looks forward to more business opportunities between Solomon Islands and UAE.
