SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB DONATES TO DENGUE AWARENESS

The Western region Gizo Zomo sports and Social Club has donated towards the Gizo Dengue Fever awareness program.

Western Province Health Director Doctor Gregory Jilini received a cheque of 5 thousand dollars from the Gizo Zomo sports and Social Club President Henry Kuma this week.

Radio Hapi Lagun’s Sina Adrian reports, receiving the donation, Dr. Jilini says, the value of the assistance does not matter as much as where it comes from.

He adds, the health services can not address all health issues alone, thanks to such participation and involvement by a group within the community.

Meanwhile, Western regions Gizo Zomo sports and Social Club president Mr. Henry Kuma says, the club is not merely a sports and social club but a community oriented organization.

He says the club has already done so many community service projects in Gizo and Noro in last 5 years and in 2009 they donated about 20 thousand plus dollars to the diet and nutrition.

Mr. Kuma says, the Zomo Sports and social Club is happy to be part of the Dengue fever campaign this year.
