SWELL ADVISORIES CANCELLED FOR PARTS OF THE COUNTRY
All Swell Advisories have now been cancelled by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service at half past nine yesterday morning.
The MET Office said all swell advisories for the low-lying coastal areas of Ontong Java, the Sikaiana atolls, Dai, the Ramos Island, Temotu and the Northern waters of Choiseul, Isabel, Malaita and Makira Provinces have been cancelled.
It said moderate Northerly swells should now be easing down within the next 24 hours.
However, the MET Office warns that people of these communities should take precautionary measures until the threat is over.
It adds this is the last advisory unless any part of the country is under threat again.
