Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) has given $500,000 to World Vision to support its 18 months flood rehabilitation project.

The project is to address the Health and Hygiene needs of those affected by the April Flooding in the Weathercoast of Guadalcanal Province.

Handing over the assistance, the World Vision Solomon Islands Director, Mr Janes Immanuel Ginting, thanked ICDF and the Taiwan Ambassador His Excellency Victor Te-sun Yu and the government of Republic of China (Taiwan) for their support.

Mr. Manuel Ginting says the donated fund will be used for Health and Hygiene activities in Wards 10 (Moli), 11 (Tetekanji), and 12 (Birao) of Guadalcanal, to help improve their health and prevent the spread of diseases and provide children and their families with resources to stay healthy.

SIBC News understands Mr Ginting also thanked the Premier of Guadalcanal Province, Mr Bartholomew Vavanga for his Government’s support and cooperation during the project’s initial development.
