THREE CABINET MINISTERS SWORN-IN
Three Cabinet Ministers were sworn in yesterday by the Governor General Sir Frank Kabui at Government House following the reshuffle exercise by Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare early this week.
Former Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Augustine Auga was sworn-in as the new Minister for Provincial Government, while former Provincial Government Minister Dudley Kopu was sworn-in as the new Minister for Agriculture and Livestock.
Former Minister of Women, Youth, Children, and Affairs Hon. Jimson Finiau Tanangada was sworn-in as the new Minister for Rural Development and Indigenous Affairs.
A government statement said other reshuffled Ministers who will be sworn-in at a later date are Hon. Bodo Dettke, Hon. Bartholomew Parapolo and Hon. Freda AB Tuki Soriacomua.
Meanwhile, the statement said Hon. Dettke will be the new Minister of Culture and Tourism while Hon. Parapolo will be the new Minister of Forestry and Research.
Hon. Freda Soriacomua will be the new Minister of Women, Youth andChildren Affairs.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare said the new portfolio allocations are neither demotions nor promotions but are made to support the delivery of DCCG Policies and to encourage Caucus solidarity to achieve national unity.
The Prime Minister said the exercise demonstrates the confidence he has in his Ministers to carry out their mandated duties without fear or favour and they will have the full support of the DCC Government.
