TOZAKA PRESENTED RAMSI REPORT AT FOREIGN LEADERS MEETING
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Milner Tozaka has presented a report on the work of RAMSI in Solomon Islands during the Pacific Islands Foreign Leaders meeting in Suva, Fiji last week.
The report outlines RAMSI’s efforts towards strengthening the country’s economy law and order, the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force and institutions.
Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade Joseph Ma’ahanua told SIBC News, Minister Tozaka also informed his counterparts on plans in implementing RAMSI’s draw down next year.
“We were also informed of the plan that is in place to work towards the drawdown and as we all know the drawdown will happen in June next year, so we only have less than a year of trying to progress the work that will slowly see the facing down and eventual withdrawal if not, closure of another chapter we have set in place through the Facilitation Act of 2003.”
