UN Clarifies false information about UN 2030 Agenda
The United Nations (UN) has been informed of a flyer circulating in parts of the Solomon Islands providing false information about the UN 2030 Agenda and the work of the UN in the Pacific.
In a media statement, the UN confirmed that the information on the flyer is not true.
It clarifies the 2030 Agenda is, in fact, a list of sustainable development goals aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet, improving the lives and prospects of everyone and everywhere.
This includes the people of the Solomon Islands and across the Pacific.
It says, the UN team in the Solomon Islands is working with the government, private sector representatives, and civil society groups to support the journey towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, the country’s national priorities.
