VISITING RECTOR MAJOR EXPRESSED CONCERN FOR WOMEN
The visiting Don Bosco Rector Major has expressed special concern for women in the country who are burdened with family responsibilities.
Father Angel Fernandez Atime is in Solomon Islands to visit the Don Bosco Institutions in the country and Fiji.
Speaking through a translator, the Rector Major also said he was deeply touched by the concerns of school dropouts which the Prime Minister had raised.
“And I was also deeply struck by the deep worry and concern about young people dropping out of the school system.”
The 10th successor of Don Bosco also expressed a special concern for women who were often burdened with family responsibilities, saying this is a common practice in many countries.
The Rector Major said as Salesians of Don Bosco they believe that the promotion and development of women are keys to the future of each nation.
“A special concern Prime Minister, is for the girls and for the sake of women who on one hand, are shouldering all the burdens of the family in society.”
Father Angel Fernandez Atime was speaking at the Henderson Don Bosco Institute on Monday this week.
