Western Cup enters day 3 with exciting results

The 2024 Western Cup tournament is in full swing at the JFK stadium in Gizo as it entered day 3 of competition with exciting results.
According to Loulen Hanley Lelapitu, an executive member of the Western Football Association (WFA), the opening of Pool C and Pool D matches provided plenty of excitement for the fans.
Today’s results saw West Marovo emerge victorious after defeating North Rendova with a convincing 3-0 win.
Lario opened the scoring for West Marovo, and Tuni added the second goal 43 minutes after kick off.
Roni again scored another goal for West Marovo to seal the victory just before the final whistle.
In another match, South Rannonga edged out Kolombangara 2-1.
Olo put South Rannonga ahead in the 6th minute, but Kolombangara’s Dessington Davis equalized the score in the 26th minute.
South Rannonga then bounced back with a goal from John Kovasa in the 48th minute in the second half to give his team the lead.
Today’s final match saw West Gizo prove their dominance by defeating Simbo 3-0.
Ben Basi opened the scoring for West Gizo in the 6th minute while Manashe Paua added a second goal in the first half.
Apolos Ahiau then scored the third goal for West Gizo in the second half.
“South Rannonga and West Gizo have really shown their dramatic spirit in the field in their opening Pool match,” Lelapitu added.
The tournament will continue tomorrow morning at 10 am, with fans eagerly anticipating more thrilling action.
