Western provincial gov’t set to review key ordinances
The Western Provincial Government, under the leadership of Premier Billy Veo is reviewing a number of provincial ordinances.
The review to ensure the ordinances align with current laws and regulations.
Speaking during the 46th Independence celebration at the JFK Stadium in Gizo, Western Province on Monday, Premier Veo said that among other ordinances to be reviewed are the Western Province Market Ordinance, the Western Province Business License Ordinance, and the Western Province Town Council Ordinances.
“These are government priorities to review their existing ordinances to ensure they align with current laws, regulations, and best practices,” Premier Veo said.
Meanwhile the provincial government has completed the recruitment of well-qualified officers who are leading the delivery of key policy priorities of the government.
The availability of these experts will greatly enhance the technical capacity of the province.
“There is much work yet to be accomplished, and I assure you all that the government is determined and committed to progressively deliver the desired outcomes reflected in the current Government’s Policy Translation Document,” Premier Veo said.
