Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS), Dr. Tenneth Dalipanda has said plans to relocate the National Referral Hospital are progressing.
He says the National Government has already secured 700 hectares of land at the Gilbert Camp area for the hospital relocation.
“The Government has bought a land behind Gilbert Camp on which the hospital will be relocated. The committee is working to put that application through and we are in the process of identifying the site and the government has made payments and has already acquired the land title.”
Dr. Dalipanda said they have had discussions with the Government of Japan regarding possibilities of applying for a Japanese grunt towards the hospital relocation project.
