YOUTHS FROM Y@W TRAINED ON DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT

About 400 youths from the Youth at Work internship program have participated in a basic training on Disaster Risk Management.

The training taught the youths how to identify types of disasters and how to respond to them effectively.

Intern Sharon Raku said they learnt the different terms used in disasters and actions that should be taken before, during and after a disaster occurs.

The training was facilitated by Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) together with the Disaster Management Office and Red Cross.

It was held last week.
